Fire station at Khuzama inaugurated

Advisor of Youth Resources and Sports, Zale Neikha inaugurated the fire station at Khuzama, Southern Angami area in the presence of advisor of Fire & Emergency Services and SIRD, Pohwang Konyak on Wednesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Neikha said this was one of the much needed amenities for the public and expressed the hope that the department would provide best service to the people in the area and also to neighbouring villages in Manipur.
Maintaining that fire-fighters were first responders, he reminded them to work to protect others in emergency and hazardous situations.
Highlighting various development activities taken up the government, Neikha said the present government led by Neiphiu Rio, was staying true to its motto ‘Facta Non Verba’ (deeds not words) and a lot of developments have been introduced in all corners of Nagaland.
He affirmed that in the coming tenure, more developmental activities will come under Southern Angami-II constituency if they work together in unity to develop it as one family.
Meanwhile, Neikha lauded chief minister Neiphiu Rio and advisor Pohwang Konyak for introducing a Fire Department at Khuzama which will be the first fire station in the Southern Area.
Pohwang in his speech informed that of the 48 fire stations needed in the state, this was the 21st fire station. He also informed that the next fire station would be inaugurated in Phomching area. Inspector General of Fire & Emergency Services, Neilasa Sopfü informed that the Fire Station Khuzama would not only serve the villages this side but also reach out to the neighbouring border villages in Manipur.
He also said that the department has been entrusted with creating awareness on the safety measures for high raised buildings, for both private and government.
Khuzama Village chairman Zedil Naleo expressed happiness to the department for providing the facility while Nagaland Information Commissioner Nosazol Charles also exhorted the gathering.
Pastor of Khuzama Baptist Church, Mhaphuvi Naleo offered prayers on the occasion.
