‘Good governance week’ observed in Longleng

Longleng district administration observed “good governance week” on December 21 at DPDB Hall, Longleng. Good governance week is being observed from December 19 to 25.
According to DDIPR report, speaking on the occasion, EAC HQ, Longleng, Dr. Samuel Akho Konyak encouraged the officers, staff and DBs of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Longleng to recommit themselves to good governance.
He informed that “Good Governance Week” is observed to make people aware of the government’s commitment to providing a transparent and accountable administration in the country.
He added that it is also celebrated to enhance the welfare and betterment of the people.
“It is celebrated to standardize government functioning and make it highly effective and accountable governance for the citizens of the country.
It also seeks to implement good and effective policies to complete the mission of good governance in India.
It also seeks to enhance growth and development in the country through good governance.
It also strives to bring citizens closer to the government to make them active participants in the good governance process”, he stated.
Konyak said government officials/staff must take into account the needs and wishes of the people in the true bottom-up approach and should be implemented through the latest technological tools in a transparent, effective and accountable manner.
He said that grievance redressal is at the core of good governance, where the citizens’ voices must be heard and their grievances redressed at the earliest time frame.
