He called upon all the people to celebrate this Christmas in the true spirit of Christianity, based on the message of faith, love, and hope. “It is truly said that if we keep telling the Christmas stories, keep singing the Christmas songs and living the Christmas spirit, we can bring joy, happiness and peace into this world,” stated his message.
Azo wished that may the spirit of Christmas fill everyone’s hearts throughout this season and always.
NPP: Extending Christmas greetings to the people of Nagaland, State NPP president Dr. Andrew Ahoto Sema said as people commemorate God’s love by celebrating Christmas, they must also recognise to see a need in someone’s life, as Christ did for them.
He emphasised that Christmas message should be to give up one’s very self, to think only of others and how to bring the greatest happiness to others, asserting that this was the true meaning of Christmas.
Ahoto quote from the Bible verse 1 John 4:8: “Out of gratitude for what God did for us, we remember His birth by giving each other gifts, worshipping Him, and being especially conscious of the poor and less fortunate.” With this in mind, he said Christmas could be a season of great joy, a time of God showing His great love and a time of healing and renewing strength.
He also called for committing to the message of Jesus and be compassionate to those who were less fortunate and doing the best to build a better world on the strong foundations of peace, tolerance and harmony.
On behalf of NPP Nagaland, Ahoto extended Christmas and New Year greetings, wishing good health, happiness and wellness in every family and better future for all.
