Fire destroys house, godown in Dimapur

One house and a godown of North Eastern Carrying Corporation (NECC) near Kher Mahal Police point junction, were completely destroyed in a massive fire that broke out at around 10 pm on Friday.
However, no casualties were reported till the timing of filing this report.
A fire official said nine fire tenders were pressed into action from the Central Fire Brigade and Western Fire Brigade. An investigation will be on to ascertain the cause of the fire and also asses the properties damaged in the fire, the official said. Properties worth several lakhs were reported to have been gutted in the inferno.
When contacted, NECC manager, Hozka K Awomi, said that the fire was suspected to have started from the house of a labour, whose whole family was out of town.
