Sukimi Students Union (SSU) and Singrep Village Students Union (SVSU) celebrated their respective golden jubilees on December 28 and 29 while Emlo-To students’ Union (ETSU) observed its 57th biennial conference on December 27 to 30 and Lengnyu Students’ Union (LSU) held its 45th general session on December 30.
Keoshu graces SSU golden jubilee
Advisor IPR & VG, S. Keoshu Yimkhiung graced the Sukimi Students Union (SSU) golden jubilee (1972-2022) celebration on December 28 as special guest.
A DIPR report stated that, Keoshu, in his speech congratulated the jubilee Committee, the student community, and the citizens of Sekiur B (Sukimi) for achieving a significant milestone.
He acknowledged the founders and former union officials for rendering their selfless sacrifice and contribution towards the union. The advisor also appreciated the state government for allocating 2% job reservation for the Sumi of Sekiur B, which he said was the long cherished demand of the community.
Kesohu also assured to extend his best cooperation to the sumis of Sekiur B and encouraged them to share their grievances.
He discouraged backdoor appointments and said that the State government had introduced NSSB for recruitment of government jobs, where only the best and most deserving candidates will get the privilege.
He therefore reminded them to be sincere and dedicated to their studies and put extra effort into their academic career so that they can achieve their goals.
SVSU golden jubilee
Singrep Village Students Union (SVSU) celebrated its golden jubilee from December 27 to 29 with Rev. Y Imtiba executive secretary USBLA Yangli and R.Tsapikyu Sangtam president ENPO unveiling the jubilee monolith.
In his speech, R Tsapikyu Sangtam said encouraged the village elders to focus on women’s empowerment and spoke on the significant of celebrating golden jubilee.
USSC vice president, Sethrongba exhorted the villagers as well as the students to live in peace and harmony.
Singrep village students Union also presented a Mithun to the president ENPO as a symbol of unity.
Special presentations were displayed by the students Union Singrep also folk dances were presented by various cultural troupes.
LSU holds 45th general session

Lengnyu Students’ Union (LSU) held its 45th general session on December 30 at Lengnyu village Public ground under the theme “Resilience”.
At the formal session invocation prayer was offered by LBC pastor T. Mongtsoa and head GB Lengnyu, L.Penglang, talked about peace and unity in his exhortation. NDPP Central Youth Organization; Kohima, general secretary S.Pokoi Kaothie graced the conference as chief guest and PRSU president P Zuhing as invited guest. The valedictory night was graced by GHSS Kiphire PGT, Shingnyu.
ETSU 57th biennial conference culminates

The 57th biennial conference of Emlo-To students’ Union (ETSU) hosted by Emlomi village culminated on December 30.
A press release by ETSU Vikato I Chishi stated that the conference commenced on December 27, under the theme “enriching our future” with H. Hoshito Sema Retd. Additional Director, Treasuries & Accounts as chief guest.
The speakers of the four-day session included Ghoito Sema, JE, PWD, Mechanical, Rev. K Puhoto Chishi, Pastor, NCRC, Thilixu and Shri Botovi Sema, Registrar, Land Resources.
Activities such as cultural and literary competitions, volley ball and election of office bearers for the next tenure was conducted.
