As part of Jal Jeevan Mission, a day-long “Block Level Workshop” on Jal Jeevan was conducted on January 4 at area court Chare town, Tuensang.
The workshop was organised by PHE department in collaboration with Alongphi Welfare Society under the theme “Source Water Conservation and its Sustainability in Rural Areas”.
According to DIPR report, assistant professor, Fazal Ali College, Nohochem Sangtam speaking at the workshop said that conservation of water began from the participation of the community in the village areas through limitations of deforestation and jhum cultivation to maintain the balance of spring water. Toma JE, PHED Chare block spoke on the topic of community participation in the Jal Jeevan Mission.
The programme was followed by demonstration of practical field testing kits of water by the department.
12 villages, members of WATSAN Committee and village council attended the workshop.
