The 3rd summer camp, organised by the Kongrokong youth, Khensa village, under the theme “explore, learn, excel”, is underway at the NI Jamir Higher Secondary School, Yimyu under the directorship of Watilemba.
Rather than relying only on government agencies, the Kongrokong youth has taken up innovative and unique programme for trade motivational skilling of the younger generation under the aegis of “summer camp” since the last consecutive years.
The camp offers different trainings on trade, arts & skills. This year, they are concentrating in the fields of cooking, farming, hair and make-up under Tekanaro and Tekachila, music under Sentijungla, Ayu and Akumyanger, fine arts under Kilangtoshi and Temjennukshi, english speaking under Akumsunep, Imsuchila and Imsujungla, cutting and tailoring under Tekachila and martial arts under Angang.
A dental care and awareness camp would also be conducted on July 4, under Dr. Funit Longchar. The camp will conclude on July 5 with demonstrations by the students from each trade/discipline of training. Altogether, a total of 112 students between the age group of 5 to14 years are attending the camp.
