28 Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted a drug abuse awareness programme and felicitated the persons of Wokha district who have de-addicted by their strong willpower and family support in Wokha on June 30. According to PRO IGAR (N) the aim of the programme was to spread awareness amongst the youth about ill effects of drug addiction which has slowly and steadily poisoned the young and future generation. The unit regimental medical officer Captain Satya Prakash attended the programme and guided the youth on various steps to be taken for de-addiction of drug abuse and the advantages of following a healthy life style. 28 Assam Rifles also gave a token of appreciation to the people who have undergone rehabilitation programme and de-addicted from the menace thereby setting examples to the society.
