MLA Dr. Neikiesalie Nicky Kire stressed on the importance of education and of fulfilling one’s responsibility and two-way communication between teacher and student.
Dr. Kire said this while addressing as chief guest at the 50th freshers day celebration of Kohima College Kohima (KCK) on June 30. He also advised the college to keep record of alumni and their achievements in the college website as this would speak for the college. The chief guest also released the college magazine (2016-17).
The meritorious award which included scholar’s badge, citation and cash award were presented by KCK Alumni Association president Neingulo Krome to Dz?zienuo Yhome, subject topper, Tenyidie honours in the university exams, 2017.
Earlier, welcome address was given by Dr. Watijungshi Jamir, principal, KCK in the programme chaired by Nutalu Keyho. He encouraged the students to use freedom and time wisely and that they should take full advantage of all the facilities provided to them and make the best use of the quality education that was imparted by the well- qualified teachers.
Invocation prayer was given by Dr. Konei Nakhro and special numbers presented by Virie and KCK students. The induction of the new team members for the Kohima College Students Union was also held by Lily Angami, asst. professor & conveyor, KCSC, where Nukedu Dawhuo (outgoing general secretary) and Vimeyiekho Visto (incoming general secretary) gave speeches, and Dr. Theyiesenuo, asst. professor prayed for the new KCSC team. Words of acceptance were given by Avezo Kevin Kapu and Mangyang L. The declaration of Mr and Miss Freshers was also held. Vote of thanks was delivered by Medokerhe Therie.
