Jakhama Village Council (JVC) released its 2nd Amendment Constitution booklet at the village council first general meeting of this current year on January 11 at the Council Hall, Jakhama village.
According to JVC media cell, the booklet containing 27 pages was released by KVC chairman, Zhopo Richa after a prayer by Puzoto Sophie, pastor of Jakha Town Baptist Church. The 2nd Amendment Committee of “Yehzabo” (Constitution) consisted of Kezhokhoto Savi, advocate as convenor and Saku Rolnu GB and Kikoviku Yosa as members.
According to Kezhokhoto Savi, JVC approved its first constitution with the motto – “Truth and Victory” which came into force on May 1, 1993 and now everyone residing within the Jakhama village jurisdiction would honour the present Constitution as law abiding citizen which was approved and came into force on November 25, 2022.
Savi said the JVC constitution would strengthened the Article 371 A of the Constitution of India where a special provision was given to the Nagas of Nagaland.
