The Langpangkong Kaketshir Mundang (LKM) held its foundation day cum the felicitation programme at Town Hall, Chuchuyimlang town.
During the programme two meritorious students were given away the late LL Yaden Meritorious Scholarship Award and L Pangersowa Trust Award for Academic Excellence.
Lipokrenla, daughter of Temsumongba from Langpangkong Govt High School, Chuchuyimlang was the recipient of the 2nd late L.L Yaden Meritorious Scholarship Award. Lipokrenla was given a citation along with cash award of Rs. 50000 sponsored by Geoffrey Yaden and family in honour of his father, the first graduate from Langpangkong range and also the first LKM president and founding member.
The award is given to the highest mark scorer of HSLC exam from amongst the Govt High Schools of Langpangkong range.
Moamanen son of Shilutemjen of Changtongya was the recipient of the 6th L. Pangersowa Trust Award. The award is given to the best of HSLC toppers from amongst Langpangkong students. Moamanen was given away cash award and a certificate.
Speaking as the special guest, DFO Mon, T. Aochuba Longkumer (IFS) encouraged the students to strife hard and progress, saying the world today is competitive and students needed to be prepared to face the challenges.
He said the society has been mounted with corruption, and realising the necessity of choosing a true leader, LKM had come up with clean election campaign. While lauding LKM for the mission, he said its success would depend on the wise decision of the youths.
The message of Geoffrey Yaden, Editor-in-Chief, Nagaland Post was also read out on the occasion.
Lipokrenla, the award recipient, said it was her sincerity and dedication and also her parent’s silent prayer and support from teachers for her achievement.
Those who attended the programme include LKM executives, presidents of the federating units and former LKM office bearers.
The program was hosted by LKM general secretary, Imtisungkum Lemtur.
