Assam Rifles conduct various activities

Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General of Assam Rifles (IGAR-North) carried out various programmes and activities across Nagaland.
Kohima Bn: Kohima battalion of Assam Rifles paid homage to its Braveheart Major Santosh Kumar Agnihotri, who made supreme sacrifice in line of duty on January 11, 1998. According to PRO Defence, the Battalion laid wreath, remembered its Braveheart, reached out to Anita Agnihotri, wife of the Braveheart and paid respect.
Mon Bn: Mon battalion of Assam Rifles under Op Sadbhavna 2022-23 distributed solar street lights to villagers of Choknyu Village, Mon district on January 11, informed PRO Defence.
Phek Bn: The Mt Saramati expedition team of Phek Battalion, 38 Assam Rifles reached Ziphu on January 11 after departing from Meluri town, Phek district. According to PRO Defence, the Saramati expedition team upon reaching Ziphu village held meetings with civil authorities and village council members of Ziphu and Mokie villages. They held discussions to spread the idea of prosperity and peace in the region, along with promoting women empowerment among the population.
The team led by Col Hem Chandra Singh, Commanding officer of 38 Assam Rifles also interacted with locals and students and discussed about the betterment of education system of children in these rural and remote villages.
