Govt yet to issue Pillai’s termination order, say officials

Even 14 days after DGP Nagaland L.L. Doungel had told media persons that the services of M.K.R. Pillai, Consultant in the PHQ was terminated with immediate effect; no order has yet been passed till date.
When contacted, Home department officials told this Correspondent that no such file for processing the termination order was received by the department. On June 14 last, DGP Nagaland, L.L. Doungel informed media persons in his office chamber, that the service of M.K.R. Pillai as PHQ consultant was terminated with immediate effect and that order was “expected to be out within a day or two”.
On May 8, Income Tax sleuths had raided several premises of Pillai and his firm Sreevalsam Group after he had revealed that he had assets worth Rs.50 crores. Pillai, who joined Nagaland police 46 years ago as a constable, retired as Addl. SP. The two-day raids had yielded investments to the tune of Rs 400 crore.
