Fire destroys shopping complex at Pimla bazaar

Five shops in a shopping complex at Pimla bazaar, Pimla village, Dhansiripar Dimapur, belonging to H. Kavito Swu was gutted on the night of June 24. 
 A press note by Pimla village council chairman, Kiyeho Swu stated that fire broke out in the middle room of the building, stocked with wares for sale during Idd festival. The source of the fire is speculated to be caused by a “careless cigarette butt”.
The council claimed that total amount accumulating to Rs. 35 lakh (approximate) and “value of shopkeeper marketing goods and family assets” amounting to Rs. 20 lakh have been destroyed by the fire. No casualty was reported.
