
Chakhesang Clean Election Movement (CEM) comprising of Chakhesang Public Organization, other frontal organizations and different church denominations on Tuesday held a meeting with political parties–NPF, INC, NC, BJP, UNDP of Phek district at Chakhesang Baptist Church Council’s conference hall.
A release by Chakhesang CEM stated that presidents of different political parties and senior leaders spoke during the meeting and strongly supported the CCEM guidelines and to go ahead with the movement for a positive transformation.
NPCC president and former finance minister K. Therie, Kekhwengulo Lea, president CPO, Vapramu Demo and Theja Therie also spoke during the meeting and delivered strong messages in support to the Chakhesang Clean Election Movement guidelines.
They also requested the Chakhesang Clean Election Movement and church leaders to take the responsibility to bring change as church play an important role in changing politics. They further requested the Chakhesang Clean Election Movement to activate clean election ideas and bring clean electoral roll for clean election.
Leaders from different political parties were also requested to choose their leaders wisely and to stop media wars which affected individuals and the community as a whole.
Chakhesang Clean Election Movement said its convenor asked all the participants to raise hands as a sign of their support toward clean election movement and termed the response as “very positive”.
Rev. Zupelhi Mero prayed for the blessing of God while the meeting was chaired by Chakhesang Clean Election Movement convener Dr. Kuzhopoyo Tunyi. Chakhesang Clean Election Movement 18-point guidelines were read out to the party leaders. Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo executive secretary Chakhesang Clean Election Movement led the devotion.
