World Drug Day observed across Nagaland

The DEF Mokokchung observed the international day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking at the PSI complex on June 26. At a brief program held to mark the day, the program focussed on spreading awareness about drug abuse amongst the personnel. The program was chaired by Yanren additional SP Mokokchung.  A painting competition was organized at DEF School Mokokchung sponsored by DEF Mokokchung. The winners in the competition were awarded with cash prize. 
CCA Pfutsero: Cultural Club of Ahthibung (CCA) observed the day at Ahthibung town hall. A press note by CCA-TI-NGO programme manager, Hengoulal Singsit stated that EAC, Lithrila Sangtam was the chief guest. It stated that representatives from Kuki Inpi Nagaland, Town Committee Ahthibung, GBs of Ahthibung, teachers from various schools, various church leaders and different walks of life attended the programme. 
Pfutsero: 9 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 5 Sector, IGAR(N), Lightway Society, Kalos Society, Red Cross, Pfutsero Branch and Kripa Foundation observed International Day against Drug Abuse on June 26  as a second  phase at Pfutsero. First phase of this campaign was organized on 7th June in the form of seminar wherein more than 150 people participated.  The day was observed with a rally which included town youth, students of TMT school, troops of 9 Assam Rifles, NGOs and people of Pfutsero. They carried out march in town with banners, placards and posters to create awareness among people about the harmful effects of drugs and awareness on prevention of HIV/AIDS. Vikholie Yiese, program manager, Kripa Foundation and master trainer in his guest lecture emphasized on substance abuse on drug, alcohol and narcotics. Program objective was shared by Vesusa Tetseo, project director, Lightway Society. 
CMS Dimapur: Christina Memorial school conducted an awareness program to commemorate the international day against drug abuse and trafficking with Dr C Tetseo  DNO NTCP as the  resource the person. He gave a PowerPoint presentation on drug and tobacco addiction and how to stay away from them. Limaienla was the chairperson, Hikato pronounced the invocation, Kanoli Yepth presented a special number and Temsujungla vice principal pronounced the vote of thanks. The members also pledged to stay away from drug and tobacco . 
15 Assam Rifles: 15 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) conducted an anti- drug drive in the remote villages of Dan, Noklak, Shamatore and C’ Saddle. Awareness lecture at Shamator was conducted by Captain (Dr) Prakash Chandra Rai, RMO. Lectures were also conducted by 15 Assam Rifles at C’ Saddle, Dan and Noklak .  Altogether 271 villagers attended the lectures. Free medicines were also distributed to the ailing.  
9 AR Zadima: 9 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised a seminar-cum-workshop under Chiephobozou sub division of Kohima district on June 26. The workshop focused on creating awareness about ill effects of HIV/AIDS and drug abuse. 2IC N S Rani, chief medical officer of 9 Assam Rifles delivered a lecture upon substance abuse of drugs, alcohol & narcotics.   The programme was organized with the help of village council members of Zeizou and Zadhima villages which was attended by 115 villagers and 27 personnel from 10th IRB Bn of Zeizou.
