Technology orientation prog concludes

Central Muga and Eri Research and Training Institute, Ladoigarh, Jorhat in association with the department of Sericulture Nagaland conducted a five-day technology orientation programme for the district sericulture officials and NGO members from June 13 to 17 at district sericulture office, Dimapur.
The programme covered a myriad range of topics including eri and muga silkworm rearing management, host plant management, technology innovations and future strategies of muga and Eri culture etc. 
Dr. S. A. Ahmed, Scientist C, CMER&TI, was the programme coordinator as well as resource person. Dr. B. K. Singh, Director CMER&TI, graced the closing function of the programme and encouraged the participants to work hard towards making Nagaland a front runner in silk production in the country. 
Deputy director of Sericulture, Yashimeren, encouraged each participant to implement the knowledge that they’ve gained in the field level. Vote of thanks was given by Vilhousienuo Khro, assistant sericulture officer.
Altogether, 30 trainees, including district sericulture officials and NGO members, attended the programme. Resource persons of the five-day programme were Dr. Anukul Borah, scientist D, Dr. Sanjib Borua, assistant professor EEI Jorhat, D. Goswami, scientist D, Dr. M. C. Sarmah, scientist D, Ninoto Zhimomi, textile consultant.
