Deputy chief minister, Y. Patton said jubilee was a time for forgiveness and reconciliation and called upon the people to usher in peace and harmony.
A press release by media cell of Dy. CMO said the minister was delivering greetings at the platinum jubilee celebration of New Changsu Village Baptist Church (NCVBC), Sunday. The three-day celebration was held under the theme, “Let your light shine” (Matthew 5:16).
Stating that with the celebration of the platinum jubilee the NCVBC has attained a milestone, Pattton called upon the congregation not to let the sacrifices and pain of the pioneers go in vain but to carry it forward by leading an exemplary life.
Patton, who is an in-law of the village, said he was fortunate to be their in-law and thanked the village for their love and affection. He also wished for a bountiful jubilee blessing upon each individual and household.
Delivering a message on “Let the light of Christ bring change in your life”, LBCA (R) executive secretary, Rev. Dr Ezamo Murry said only the light of Jesus Christ could bring changes in a person’s life.
The programme began with a prayer by Yikhum Baptist Church, pastor, Zanbemo Kithan followed by a prayer for the departed souls by Kohima Lotha Baptist Church, Sr. pastor Rev. Dr. Benry Lotha; special songs were presented by jubilee choir and Changsu Yanthan Wokha Town Eloe Okho; Longsa Baptist Church pastor Rev. L. K Tsanglao prayed for God’s blessings upon the village and the church, while Pangti Baptist Church pastor, Rev. Monglio Ngullie pronounced the benediction.
