Nagaland governor Prof. Jagdish Mukhi extended Kuhlangnyi greetings to the Tikhir community and the people of Nagaland. Mukhi said Kuhlang-Nyi is a festival of men folks celebrated in the third week of January every year and also a festival of warriors, where men folks determine themselves to be brave and courageous.
“Taking oath that, they cannot be defeated at times of wars and attacks from the enemies. Men folks gather at the morung encouraging each other to be brave and to get prepared to face the war with courage. They also celebrate their victory over the enemies,” Mukhi said and noted that today, it is being observed as a festival preparing themselves to face the year-long challenges.
