NPF ready for solution but also prepared for polls: Azo

NPF Legislature Party leader, Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu categorically stated that election or no election, the first priority of NPF was for Naga solution over which the party continues to stand firm.
NPF press Bureau that Azo made the remark while addressing the Phek Area Sports Association 33rd meet, as special guest.
NPF press bureau said Azo reaffirmed that NPF party was ready to make way for any new dispensation if required.
Azo also pointed out that had the Central government been sincere enough in bringing about a logical conclusion to the Naga issue before announcement of election, the NPF party including the Nagas would have been happy.
He said if election was declared in contrary to the wishes of the Nagas for final solution, NPF was well prepared as it was besotted by many aspiring candidates to contest the 2023 election.
He said “God has blessed the party so much that many intending candidates including young dynamic leaders, intellectuals, women leaders and well placed senior leaders were seeking party tickets.”. However, Azo said the party was hesitant to issue tickets due to expectation of solution before polls.
He however said NPF was ready to fight the battle and claimed Nagas will stand with the NPF.
He said after formation of the opposition-less UDA coalition government NPF party will continue to vigorously pursue for inking of a final solution to the long pending Naga political problem.
Azo reminded that NPF had joined the government, as alliance partner under UDA, on the condition that it (NPF) would collectively push for an early settlement of the Naga political issue and not for any portfolio or power.
Azo said NPF had been keeping silent for long since it was optimistic of a final settlement being arrived at before election. In the event elections are held, he said the party will issue the tickets only to the winnable candidates.
Meanwhile, Azo lamented that many Nagas have forgotten its roots and expressed apprehension that a day might come when Nagas would lose their identity and culture for the sake of power and thirst of money.
Azo also reminded that as long as the oldest regional political party (NPF) exists, it would protect and preserve the true identity of the Nagas, as the guardian of the Naga people.
He therefore, called upon the people to come out of their comfort zone and support NPF for progress and to safeguard the identity and the aspiration of the Naga people.
