231 NCC cadets undergo training

A total of 231 NCC cadets of Southern Nagaland were participating in annual training camp at Kohima Science College, Jotsoma which began on January 21.
The cadets were trained under the guidance of 6 Associate NCC Officers and Army personnel of NCC Group HQ, Kohima.
In a press release, PRO (Defence) Kohima said that despite the cold weather spell in the Kohima region, the cadets were taking part in all training activities with enthusiasm.
The cadets were also taken to trekking to Puleibadze Peak by forest department and were briefed about the environmental concerns of the area and the concept of ecologically sustainable ways of harnessing forest produce.
Besides trekking, the cadets were also trained by the Army personnel in handling Small Arms. Dr Ruyangulie from the medical department also gave a practical advice on health & Hygiene, and staying warm during winters.
On January 22, Brig PS Sangwan, Group Commander Kohima, interacted with the cadets and a band and weapons displays were also organised for the cadets by 1 Assam Rifles.
Documentaries on military history were also screened for the cadets to expose them to the contribution of the armed forces in nation building. The senior cadets from this camp were also preparing to take part in the Republic Day celebrations on January 26.
