Assam Rifles battalions of Mon and Kohima conducted security meeting and wreath laying ceremony on February 2.
Mon battalion conducted security meeting with villagers at Chenmoho and Lungwa posts of Mon district. PRO defense in a statement said that the meeting was conducted to facilitate cooperation with each other and to ensure incident free conduct of upcoming assembly election. The meeting was also utilised to spread awareness on SSC (GD) recruitment.
Village Angh, Gaon Burhas, chairman and other village elders attended the security meeting.
Kohima battalion organised a solemn wreath laying ceremony in Kohima to remember and honour its braveheart late Rfn Tek Bahadur Gurung, who laid down his life on February 3 1967, while fighting against insurgents at Darlong, Champai district of Mizoram.
