MVC condemns firing by Jessami villagers

Matikhru Village Council (MVC) under Meluri, Phek district has condemned the alleged indiscriminate firing upon Matikhru villagers by Jessami villagers, Manipur while they were working at their paddy fields bordering Manipur on May 27, 2017 between 4pm to 5pm. In a press release, MVC chairman, Masi Katiry, said that “miraculously” none of the villagers were hit by the bullet. Katiry, however, said that enough evidence has been collected from the scene.
MVC has appealed to all the organizations, hohos, and likeminded people to condemn the incident and rescue Matikhru village. MVC also urged the state government to protect and uphold the territorial boundary of Nagaland and to expedite all pending cases of destruction, encroachment and the firing incidents.
