36 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) along with police representative launched an operation in general area Chekiye village, 3rd mile, Dimapur on May 22.
According to PRO IGAR (N), based on specific information the operation was carried out and during the search troops of Assam Rifles recovered 1770 cases of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth approximately Rs 65 lakhs from a garage rented by Victo Yepthomi.
PRO informed that the individual was absconding and his whereabouts were still unknown. The recovered liquor was handed over to Diphupar Police Station for further investigation and action, PRO added.
