28 Assam Rifles seize liquor

Troops of 28 Assam Rifles has seized Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) being smuggled into Nagaland from general area Doyang road on April 30.
In a press release, PRO, HQ IGAR (North) Lt. Col. Amitabh Sharma, informed that 2761 bottles of assorted liquor worth Rs. 3 lakh  was found hidden in two Mahindra Boleros, NL05C 2601 and NL02C 3248.  
In this connection, four persons, including one woman identified as Pni (34)  resident of Chukitong village and three men namely Yanrosumthung (28)  resident of Chukitong village, Susomo (46)  resident of Wokha village and Aifrig (40)  resident of Lakhuti village were  apprehended and handed over to Sanis police station. 
In another search operation by 28 AR in general area foothill road junction, Bhandari on April 29, the troops seized 2894 bottles of assorted IMFL worth Rs. 7,50,000.   The liquor was found hidden in two vehicles NL05P 0404 (Tata Sumo) and NL05T 0251 (Bolero).  
Driver & co-passengers identified as Apenthung Lotha, (28) resident of Lunying village, Y Lotha, (38) Wokha, Thingchio, (27) resident of Merapani, Lidemo Lotha, (25) resident of Merapani and Longshipemo, (26) resident of Merapani were apprehended and handed over to Bhandari Police Station.
