Titans Cricket Club emerged as the champion of the 3rd edition of Champions Trophy after defeating Hurricane Cricket Club by 13 runs in the final on Monday organized by Nagamese Baptist Fellowship Sports Ministry Chumoukedima Village on the theme “pursue oneness”.
Taking on Hurricane Cricket Club in the final, Titans CC after winning the toss opted to bat setting a target of 161 runs in 17.1 overs.
Chasing the target Hurricane CC fell short by 13 runs.
Titans CC won the match by 13 runs. Pritam from Titans CC grabbed the man of the match for the final match for taking 4 wickets.
The winner won a cash price of Rs. 50,000 and the runners-up got Rs 25,000.
In the individual category, both player of the tournament and highest run scorer was bagged by Ryan Lama of Hurrican CC for scoring 299 runs and also taking 9 wickets.
Highest wickets taker was bagged by Apong of Dimapur Slammers. Best wicket keeper was bagged by Mughavi of Dimapur Slammers, while fair play award was adjudged to team KNG CC.
Gracing the closing ceremony as the special guest, Buno Chatsu encouraged all the players not to give up regardless of their win or loss.
