In view of the visit of Prime Minister on February 24, 2023, Dimapur police have issued traffic advisory to ensure comprehensive security along the stretch of VVIP route.
In a press release, commissioner of police Dimapur stated that vehicular movement along the highway route from Green Park Junction till 3rd Mile Junction would be diverted between 9am till 12 noon. No parking of any vehicles, motorcycles and bicycles would be permitted along or near VVIP route.
Vehicles coming down from Chümoukedima towards Dimapur would be re-routed to Sovima via Green Park/5th Mile Junction.
Vehicles coming up from Dimapur towards Chümoukedima would be re-routed at 3rd Mile Junction via Thilixu/Toulazouma.
Feeder/approach roads and lanes (leading to the highway) along VVIP route would also be sealed off.
Further, no vehicles will be allowed to be parked on the stretch from Central Jail road/junction leading to Referral Hospital.
Dimapur police have, therefore, requested the public to cooperate and in case of dire emergencies, they could re-route taking the by-lanes.
Restrictions: Dimapur police have also imposed other restrictions from 3am to 6pm on February 24, 2023 within Dimapur and Chümoukedima districts due to security concern.
In an order, CP Dimapur has banned use of any kind of Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) like Drones etc.; conduct of any kind of firing practice by Security Forces/ Civil Police/ Central Police/ Private Firing Range or any civilian holder of licensed fire arms and bursting of any kind of firecrackers.
