CM appeals citizens to vote in large numbers

As the State prepares to go to Assembly election on Monday, chief minister Neiphiu Rio appealed to all eligible voters in Nagaland, especially those voting for the first time, to turnout in record numbers and cast their vote on February 27.
“Be a contributor to the democratic process. I also extend my best wishes to all the candidates. May polling day be peaceful & successful,” the chief minister said in a tweet.
Meanwhile, NDPP has also called upon all citizens to come forward and exercise their universal adult franchise and ensure that democracy was once again upheld.
NDPP appealed to all to adhere to Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and ensure that the polls were conducted in a free and fair manner and avoid resorting to violence and unscrupulous and illegal ways and means.
While wishing all candidates and political parties the very best, NDPP also prayed that democracy may once again be victorious in Nagaland.
