Altogether, 11,550 Polling Personnel (PPs), which includes 9,620 male and 1,930 women Polling Persons were involved in the 14th NLA General Elections on February 27, 2023.
According to CEO office, a total of 386 polling stations (excluding 31 Akuluto A/C uncontested seat) were manned by women polling persons which can be seen district wise as follows: Zunheboto- 29 PS, Tseminyu – 8, Kiphire- 8 PS, Tuensang- 24 PS, Kohima- 40 PS, Pughoboto- 7 PS, Mokokchung – 49 PS, Noklak – 10 PS, Dimapur- 36 PS, Peren – 24 PS, Phek – 10 PS, Shamator – 7 PS, Wokha – 44 PS, Chümoukedima – 15 PS, Mon – 50 PS and Longleng – 25 PS.
Special Polling teams were also deployed district wise. Seven polling stations were managed by young employees i.e; five in Kohima, one in Wokha and one in Zunheboto. Three teams for People with Disability (PwD) were also deployed i.e; one in Kohima, one in Zunheboto and one in Tuensang. Altogether, 39 model polling stations which includes three in Dimapur, two in Chumoukedima, four in Kohima, two in Tsemenyu, one in Pughoboto, five in Phek, 10 inMokokchung, four in Wokha, one in Mon, four in Tuensang, one in Shamator and two in Kiphire were set up.
To keep a check on illegal activities such as booth capturing, illegal money distribution and bogus voting, a total 1647 PS which includes 1391 live webcasting polling stations and 256 offline videography were installed which is about 71% coverage.
The gross total Model Code of Conduct (MCC) enforcement teams involved in the ensuing general election was 1,844 officials out of which Sector Officers/Sector Magistrate are 306, 942 Micro Observers, 169 Flying Squad team, 180 Static Surveillance team, 62 Assistant Expenditure Observers, 62 Video Surveillance team, 62 Video Viewing team and 61 Accountant team.
