Nagaland: SIT to probe Feb 27 kidnapping case in Wokha

A five-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by Wokha sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) has been constituted to probe the February 27 kidnapping case.
Police sources confirmed to Nagaland Post that a case had been registered and that investigation was underway.
According to the FIR lodged by Subenthung Kithan, two persons from Longsa village, reportedly supporters of BJP, were allegedly kidnapped by supporters of a rival candidate at Blue Hill junction around 6 a.m. on February 27 and taken away to an unknown location.
Kithan said the duo were heading to their respective polling stations to cast their votes when the incident took place.
Official sources informed this correspondent that the two persons who were found later in the evening had severe injury marks on their bodies.
It was informed that one of the two men escaped from the clutches of the kidnappers with injuries, while the other was brutally assaulted and was shifted to Dimapur where he was being treated in ICU.
