Nagaland: Post-poll scrutiny for Peren and 42 Tapi A/Cs

Post Poll Scrutiny of Form 17 A and other documents was conducted for Peren Assembly Constituencies and 43-Tapi Assembly Constituency on February 28.
According to DIPR report, the scrutiny was carried out by the general observer of 6-Tening and 7-Peren Assembly Constituencies, Manoj Kumar and Returning Officer (RO) of 6-Tening & 7-Peren Assembly Constituencies in the presence of candidates’ representative agents at ADC conference hall Peren.


Scrutiny was done for any of the following categories in polling stations:
Polling stations where complaints of poll ringing and malpractice were received during the polling process; polling stations where any significant event EVM related or otherwise was reported, polling station where poll took place in the absence of any polling agent or in the presence of polling agent of only one candidate, polling stations where the number of electors who cast their vote using documents other than EPIC and exceeding 25% of the total votes cast in the polling station, polling stations where more than 10% of electors have been identified as ASD turned up to vote, polling station where polling percentage is plus 15% or minus 15 % than the average polling percentage of the AC and polling station where there are at least five tendered votes/ challenged votes reported.


After no complaints were received from the political candidates’ agents, Manoj Kumar declared that there will be no re-polling in the Peren district of 6 Peren & 7 Peren Assembly Constituencies.
For 43-Tapi Assembly Constituency the post poll scrutiny was conducted in the presence of General Observer with the representatives of the candidates at the chamber of Returning Officer Rongsenmenla. They Verified Form 17A and other documents, whether the poll was conducted in a free, fair, and peaceful manner, as per the guideline of the Election Commissioner of India (ECI).
