Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) and Returning Officer (RO) Mokokchung Municipal Council, Chumlamo Humtsoe has issued notification in related to the ensuing election of Mokokchung Town Municipality (MTM) on May 16.
According to a DIPR report, the ADC and RO has informed that an election was to be held of a member to Ward No. 1,2,4,5,7,8,10,11,13,14,16 & 17 of the MTM with Ward No. 3,6,9,12,15 & 18 reserved for women.
ADC and RO has informed that nomination papers may be delivered by the candidate or his/her proposer to the Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC) Returning Officer of ADC (Hq) & RO between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on any day (other than public holiday) from April 3 but not later than April 10, 3 p.m.; forms of nomination papers may be obtained at the place and times aforesaid; the nomination papers will be taken up for scrutiny on April 12-13 at the Office of the ADC (Hq) & RO Mokokchung Municipal Council (MMC).
It has been informed that notice of withdrawal of candidature may be delivered by a candidate or his/her proposer or his/her election agent (who has been authorized in writing by the candidate to deliver it) to MMC office before 3 p.m. on April 24. In the event of the election being contested, the poll would be taken on May 16, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., informed the ADC and RO.
