Sümi Hoho (SH) has condemned the firing incident involving some miscreants at the residence of former MLA, Pukhayi Sumi, located at Diphupar ‘B’ village, Chümoukedima district on March 6 midnight.
In a joint statement, SH president I Nikheto Jimomi, general secretary Dr. Vihuto Asumi and Sümi Kükami Hoho president Kashito Yepthomi have urged the law enforcing agencies to act swiftly and apprehend those responsible.
Stating that recently there had been instances of miscreants firing at the residences of public leaders, the hoho said “such act of life attempt is an act of cowardice which is condemnable by every sensible citizen.” SH stated that “such act of lawlessness” have no place in a civilized society.
According to sources, police have visited the incident site and initiated the investigation. An FIR has also been registered in connection with the incident.
It may be mentioned that on the same night, some miscreants had reportedly fired shots at the Lok Sabha MP Tokheho Yepthomi’ residence at Naharbari, Dimapur.
