Eastern Nagaland People’s Organization (ENPO) and the three-member committee formed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) to oversee the ‘Frontier Nagaland’ state demand is scheduled to hold another meeting at Guwahati on April 11.
Sources said that an 11-member delegation of ENPO representing the tribal bodies would be leaving for Guwahati on April 10 and hold meeting with the Central team headed by MHA advisor (NE) AK Mishra on April 11.
Meanwhile, ENPO representatives on Saturday held a meeting to deliberate on the formation of ‘Frontier Naga Territory’, which had been mutually agreed upon by both the sides after hectic parleys.
Though the agreement is yet to be signed, sources said that the ENPO delegation would apprise the Central team to finalize the new arrangement (Frontier Naga Territory).
As reported earlier, the new arrangement is expected to have certain financial autonomy, separate funding etc. for an interim period.
This was one of the main focal points of ENPO during several rounds of talks held with the Central team.
