In view of the upcoming general election to the Lok Sabha, 2024, the Election Commission of India organized a conference-cum-retreat of the Chief Electoral Officers from April 2 to 4, 2023 at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, in Mussoorie Uttarakhand.
Accorditng to a press release issued by deputy Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, Alila Chang, the conference was chaired by the commission. The main objectives of the conference was to initiate preparation for the General Elections to the House of the People, 2024, to review the organizational structure of the CEO offices and aligning them with various verticals of election process and setting up of a common minimum agenda and goals for each functional vertical of election process.
Altogether Chief Electoral Officers and officers from 34 States and Union Territories participated in the conference.
