Nagaland Physique Alliance/NPC Nagaland is all set to host the second National Physique Committee (NPC) Nagaland Body Building & Fitness Championship on April 22, at Holy Cross Auditorium, Dimapur.
Announcing this in a press conference on Tuesday at Hotel Grand Tizu, Dimapur, Nagaland Physique Alliance/NPC Bendangliba Lkr informed that this year, the competition will witness first Nagaland Powerlifting (RAW) Championship. He also briefed on the scope of powerlifting, which has been recognized nationally and internationally. The competition will feature athletes both male and female, competing in categories such as squat, bench press and deadlift. The event will also witness junior men’s bodybuilding and men’s physique (23 years and below).
NPC Nagaland state manager Kimiyeto Agapeto while briefing about the first championship event which was held last year said that NPC Nagaland was the first to introduce female athletes to the competitive stage in Nagaland state. He also informed that with the introduction of junior bodybuilding/men’s physique as well as state level powerlifting (RAW) in this year’s edition, the NPC Nagaland is pioneering the fitness movement in Nagaland which will enable athletes from the state to gain exposure and compete in a national level against other top athletes of the country. Agapeto also mentioned that athletes are expected not only from Nagaland but also from Meghalaya, Assam and Manipur. It was also informed that 16 candidates have already registered online from other states.
Judges of the competition will include India NPC Head, Hemant Angrish and Sunil Lochab who is the founder and president of PFI and others.
On a query about the prize money, the members disclosed that this year, the overall prizes will more than one lakh, adding that Nagaland is giving out a huge prize amount compared to other states in this field, which they stated that such has been carried out in order to encourage the athletes.
The competition has also many surprise packages for the winners. It will be a free entry competition where everyone is invited to be a part of the event and encourage the athletes.
For interested candidates, there will be two modes of registration online and offline. For online, one can register at www.indianphysiquealliance.in and preferred offline registration will be carried out on April 21, at Hotel Grand Tizu, Dimapur, starting from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The registration amount of one category will be Rs. 2000 and Rs. 1700 for powerlifting.
