Department of Political Science, ICFAI University Nagaland organized online talk on “Political Participation of Women in the Northeast India with Special Reference to Nagaland” on April 20, at the University auditorium.
A press release by ICFAI university, stated that resource person, Associate Professor, Department of Political Science, Indraprastha College for Women, University of Delhi, Dr. Lianboi Vaiphei, highlighted on the importance of women’s political participation in Northeast India in general and Nagaland in particular.
She stressed on the need for giving more space to women in elected/decision-making bodies and called for a change in overall societal attitude towards women representation in Nagaland.
Dr. Vaiphei also appreciated and congratulated the two newly elected MLAs in recently held Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections.
