Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee on Friday concluded its state-wide ‘Jai Bharat Satyagraha Yatra’ at Congress Bhavan, Kohima and vowed to save democracy.
Informing this in a press note, NPCC communication department said that the satyagraha was organised to protest against the “anti-democracy” policies Modi-led government, disqualification of Congress leader Rahul Gandhi as Lok Sabha MP. The party also demand a Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) probe or Supreme Court-monitored probe, into the financial irregularities committed by the Adani group.
Addressing the programme, former NPCC president K Therie alleged that freedom of expression was being curtailed and alleged that the entire government machinery was working to save Adani. “Democracy has collapsed. Fascism, Authoritative acts of the BJP government should be condemned by all,” Therie stated. Mentioning that satyagraha was needed to save democracy, Therie alleged that the government at the Centre was bent on weakening democracy.
Host of Congress leaders led by NPCC president S Supongmeren Jamir also took part in the satyagraha.
