IDAN inks MoU for technology transfer

As part of building a conducive ecosystem for building Investment and Entrepreneurship in the state, Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) has signed a tripartite agreement on technology transfer with Nagaland Tool Room and Training Centre (NTTC) and Eco-Green.
According to DIPR report, chairman of IDAN, Abu Metha expressed confidence that the project will lead to enhancement of rural livelihood activities. The agreement signed included technology transfer for manufacturing of nearly 10 rural entrepreneurship machines and equipment, training, after sales and market linkages. He expressed the hope that NTTC should be re-branded and shall be converted into a State of the art manufacturing support centre, which will lead into more such engagements with national and international entities, centres of excellence and world class institutes.
NTTC principal highlighted that the project will include training for value added products such as banana fibre products, pineapple fibre products, and banana leaf tea cups, plates etc. Eco-Green highlighted the marketing potential’s that they have for produces from Nagaland in their existing marketing channels in Austria, US and UK. The potential of using the Stingy Nettle fibre and other natural fibres in the state to build a specialized product category for export from Nagaland through Eco-Green Channel was also deliberated.
The event concluded with signing of MoU and discussion on prospects of upgradation of NTTC with commercial, economic and innovation verticals under the institution.
