Minister of Higher Education and Tourism, Temjen Imna Along on Tuesday advised government and private colleges of the state to “complement each other to develop the colleges by sharing their best views and ideas”.
According to a DIPR report, the minister was addressing the handholding programme on new accreditation framework for principals and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) coordinators of non-accredited colleges, Tuesday at the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Higher Education.
On decision-making of government colleges and private colleges, the minister said government colleges take time while private colleges have advantages as they quickly make decisions for the welfare of the colleges. He also urged all the non-accredited colleges to be National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) accredits and provide quality education so that students not only from the state but mainland India could also come and avail education from the state.
The programme was chaired by deputy director Higher Education (HE), Dr. K. Hukato Swu, invocation joint director HE, Rokono P. Keyho, keynote address by adviser (NAAC) Nagarbhavi, Bangalore, Dr. Sujata P. Shanbhag and vote of thanks by Dr. A. Nshoga.
