Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General of Assam Rifles (IGAR-North) conducted various activities across Nagaland.
The battalion organised an awareness lectures on drugs at Baptist Higher Secondary School, Peren & Tening town, Peren district on May 6.
At the programme, the students and villagers were educated about the ill effects of drugs followed by an interactive session with the attendees. Around 320 students of Baptist Higher Secondary School, Peren & 29 villagers of Tening attended the event.
The battalion also organised a security meeting at Wangti village, Mon district, on May 6. The meeting was attended by GBs, Village Council and Nagaland Village Guard. At the meeting, the locals assured their full support and cooperation in maintaining peace in the region.
Meanwhile, under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav-Unity campaign, Assam Rifles organised a visit to Company Operating Base at Indo Myanmar Border for school students at Akhen, Phek, on May 4. A total of 30 students and two teachers from Phek spent their day at the Company Operating Base near India – Myanmar Border and engaged in various creative activities which were designed to elicit their talents.
A Company tour was organised for students followed by various fun games where all students participated. A movie on “Assam Rifles-Through the ages” was screened for the students and teachers.
