DPDB Peren deliberates on monsoon preparedness

The monthly meeting of District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Peren was held under the chairmanship of deputy chief minister and chairman DPDB Peren, T.R Zeliang at DC’s Conference Hall, Peren on May 6.
A report by DIPR said that at the meeting, the board held a brief review of the decision taken in the previous meeting, after which the meeting deliberated on monsoon preparedness in the district agenda, wherein EE Urban Development, EE PWD (R&B), EE Power, Dy. CMO and ADS (F&CS) briefed the house about some of the major challenges faced in certain areas by their respective department during the period of monsoon and also the projects undertaken by their department.
Meanwhile, T.R. Zeliang requested the concerned department to take note of the issues highlighted and advised them to make extensive preparations in advance. The proposal for recognition of Poilwa Namzidang village was explained to the members of the board by EAC Ngwalwa, Imtinungla Longkumer. The board agreed to approve and forward the proposal to the Government.
In the meeting, a brief presentation on the topic “Nikshay Mitra” was given by DPO UIP/RCH, Dr. Kiholi Assumi, while a departmental activity was also presented by the department of Forest.
Another agenda discussed in the meeting was the adoption of schools by departments and road dividers in Jalukie Town.
