FAC holds Bi-monthly seminar

Fazl Ali College (FAC) held its bi-monthly inter-departmental seminar at FAC Conference Hall, on May 9, with Asst. Professor, Department of Sociology, Dr. Limasenla Jamir as the paper presenter.
A press release by FAC stated that Dr. Jamir spoke on the topic “Local Migrant Workers: The Mokokchung Story”, where she stressed on rural-urban migration in Nagaland and focused on who are the local migrant workers in Mokokchung. She mentioned that local migrant workers in Mokokchung were mostly from seven tribes of eastern Nagaland.
She also highlighted on the works carried out by local migrant workers which included construction sector, agricultural sector, leisure and hospitality sector and domestic service sector.
Some of the problems faced by the local migrant workers were also highlighted during the presentation.
The concluding remarks were given by Member, Seminar Committee, FAC, Dr. Aotemshi.
