NFGS flowers exhibition in Kohima

Advisor to chief minister and chairman of Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN), Abu Metha visited the exhibition and sale of flowers held under the aegis of the Nagaland Flower Growers Society (NFGS) Saturday at Kohima.
According to a DIPR report, during the visit, Metha discussed several matters related to the flower industry.
He assured the society that the state government, under the guidance of the chief minister, would formulate some programmes and initiatives to give a boost to the industry and help increase livelihood programmes for the flower growers of Nagaland.
He observed that there was vast potential for the flower industry in Nagaland to contribute towards the economy of Nagaland and also project a positive image of Nagaland to the outside world.
In his interactions with the flower growers, Metha stated that Naga people, especially women, were so passionate about flowers and almost everybody has a green thumb.
He hoped that with the collective efforts of state government, and all stakeholders, some concrete initiatives and strategies would materialise in the near future.
“We will formulate a roadmap to promote this sector so that it can contribute towards the overall economy, improve livelihoods and also project Nagaland in a positive manner”, Abu Metha tweeted.
Earlier, Metha held a consultative meeting with the society to discuss and address matters and challenges of the flower industry and also to better understand the dynamics of the local environment.
