Kohima and Tuensang District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) was held Thursday at respective district headquarters.
Speaking at the Kohima DPDB meeting at DPDB Conference Hall, Kohima, advisor, prisons and printing and stationery and chairman, Kohima DPDB, Er. Kropol Vitsu said that the “reality of the matter” should be highlighted to the public regarding any project or schemes that comes up for better understanding, cooperation and better results. Kropol also requested the MLAs of Kohima district to come up with the desirable mechanism and work plans to be done on priority to move forward in all round developmental activities.
He also urged the members of the DPDB to be dedicated, active and cooperative in any given opportunity for the developmental activities.
During the meeting, application received for Society Registration from Japfü Christian College Alumni Association; Don Bosco College Kohima Alumni Association; Kohima Ao Baptist Church and Kohima Village Students’ Union were deliberated and the same was approved and recommended for further necessary action.
In the meeting, the best performance of the Village Adoption Committee 2022-2023 prize was awarded. The winning teams also shared their experiences and challenges while performing the developmental activities. Suggestions were also presented and requests were made to the DPDB for follow up actions.
Rise of sale of Korean beverages which contains high percentage of alcohol in the market in and around Kohima city was highlighted to the house by additional SP Kohima, Relo Aye and for which the administration, KMC and police have decided to take up the issue immediately for its early redressal.
Administrator, Kohima Municipal Council, T. Lanusenla Longkumer gave a presentation on “Meri LiFE Mera Swachh Shehar Campaign,” a cleanliness drive, Reduce, Reuse and Recycle which is underway from May 15 to June 5. She said that under the campaign, one RRR Centre would be setup in every ward in the city to collect plastic items, old books, used clothes and footwear and any other items which will be further refurbished, reuse or process. The administrator requested the members to co-operate in spreading the message to all concerned and contribute the said items to the volunteers like NGOs, SHGs, Swachh TULIP intern, RWA members and citizen volunteers.

Tuensang: Tuensang DPDB held its monthly meeting at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Tuensang under the chairmanship of MLA Imtichuba Chang and chairman, DBDP Tuensang.
Reviewing the last month’s meeting minutes, the board recommended for the upgradation of Government Middle School (GMS) 3rd NAP Saksi to Government High School (GHS) after bringing forward the enrolment of students from NAP Sector and three nearby villages. The board also discussed on the T. Ao Trophy to be held at Tuensang in October 2023.
The board recommended for registration of Sangle Yangmai Society and Soteria Welfare Society Tuensang, and recommended for change of school nomenclature from GPS MKG-Noksen Road to GPS Eshou. PowerPoint Presentation on departmental activities was delivered by Transport Department.
