Dimapur city, Dimapur District Citizens’ Forum (DDCF) has expressed disappointment with the traffic congestions and deplorable condition of the roads in Dimapur and has therefore, urged upon the authority responsible to address related issues.
DDCF through its media cell, informed several issues including road infrastructure were discussed during its first executive meeting held at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur on May 13, 2023. DDCF said at the meeting, the house discussed about the traffic woes and deplorable condition of the roads. In particular, the house noted that the busy and important stretch from DC junction to Kalibari Road via GS Road and Dillai Gate to Station Road via Tragopan junction happened to be the locality where the community paying highest revenue resided.
The house also noted that there was no proper street lights along the streets in the heart of the city, even though every resident the localities pay street light fee.
DDCF has, therefore, urged upon the responsible authority to address the deplorable road condition especially along the mentioned stretches before the monsoon season sets in. It also urged upon the authority to provide proper street lights and also come up with a better plan to also address the traffic woes of Dimapur city.
DDCF expressed hope that the administration would take note of the issues raised and address them accordingly for a better Dimapur city.
Meanwhile, the forum has appreciated the Ao Senso Telongjem Dimapur for hosting the executive meeting.
