MSKU celebrates golden jubilee

Mongsenyimti Senso Kohima Union (MSKU) celebrated golden jubilee of its union’s existence under the theme “towarutem” at Molu Ki, Merhulietsa colony, Kohima on Tuesday.
Speaking on the theme “towarutem” , director Vigilance and Anti-corruption Nagaland, I. Meyionen Jamir said it was an appropriate and befitting theme for the occasion as it described the most useful period of a man’s life where one had acquired adequate knowledge, gained enough experience in life, built up oneself in financial resources, exposed to different situations and gathered enough confidence to tackle any issues. 
Jamir said 50 years for a society or an individual could be termed as solid, total and full which represented maturity, strength and completeness in life.
He said “towarutem” stage was the best time in one’s life to make any noteworthy/valuable contributions to fellow citizens. He reminded the members that it was time for introspection, evaluation and to make a commitment to broaden our horizons and set a new vision to work for the betterment of society. He challenged the gathering that at 50 years old, the union should not just wait and watch things happening around us but must assume the responsibilities to be action-oriented people who work for change and better future for present and future generations.   
Chief engineer (Police Engineering Project) Nagaland, Er. P. Lanu Aier in his address thanked the Almighty God for giving them the opportunity to celebrate their golden jubilee in good health and also the people who had tirelessly contributed towards the union before reaching the milestone. He reminded the gathering that every union was formed with good intention and for a good cause and the MSKU haf done many good deeds in the health sector, education sector and in the mission works for the society.
He said the issue of employment problem was the need of the hour and this was possible only through peace in our land. Aier said both employed and unemployed youths needed infrastructure and skills development.  Stating that the private sectors were overtaking the government sectors, he urged the gathering to organize programs relating to skill development in the coming days in order to sensitize the people which in turn would benefit the younger generations.
The programme was chaired by president MSKU Imnamendang Ozukum and he also delivered  welcome address, invocation prayer was by Rev. A. Chuba Jamir pastor KABA, special prayer for the expired members was led by Iminungla Longkumer convenor KMSST, representatives from Langpangkong Senso Telongjem Kohima, village council Mongsenyimti and Mongsenyimti Senso Bendang Union also exhorted the gathering,  special songs were presented by Zulutila Pongen and Zung 8 and 9. Er. P. Lanu Aier released the MSKU golden jubilee souvenir, vice president MSKU Tongpang Ozukum read out the union resolution, vote of thanks proposed by M.N Ajungba Ozukum convenor planning committee while benediction prayer said T. Yanger Ozukum deacon.
