DTFM on MI & WIFS supplement in Mkg

District Task Force Meeting (DTFM) on Mission Indradhanush (MI) and Weekly Iron Folic Acid (WIFS) supplement programme was held on April 28, at Deputy Commissioner’s office, Mokokchung. 
In his introductory note, DPO (UIP&RCH), Dr. Temsuyanger, highlighted about Mission Indhradhanush and its mission launched with the aim of expanding immunization coverage. He said MI aims to cover all the children who are either unvaccinated or are partially vaccinated against vaccine preventable diseases. 
Dr. Temsuyanger said the mission should reach the hard to reach areas and for which the involvement of education department and social welfare department was needed.
DPO highlighted about WIFS which aims to cover from 10 to 19 years of age for preventing anaemia in women of reproductive age. He said that under the WIFS programme for adolescents, IFA supplements are to be distributed free of cost.
Dr. Temsuyanger also gave a brief explanation on Rashtriya bal swasthya karyakram (RBSK) programme. He pointed that health screening of children was a known intervention under the school health programme and added that it was now being expanded to cover all children from birth to 19 years of age. 
Deputy Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr. Kibangkumba also gave a brief note on RBSK which is an innovative and ambitious initiative aimed at screening from 0 to 19 years of age for 4 Ds i.e. defects at birth, disease, deficiency and disabilities. 
The meeting was attended by district administrations , medical department, social welfare department and school education department and chaired by ADC, Mokokchung Bendanglila.
