‘Telangana Foundation Day’ observed

Nagaland governor, La Ganesan along with the Raj Bhavan officers and staff, and Telugu community, Nagaland observed the “10th Telangana Foundation Day” Friday at Dr. Imkongliba Ao Hall, Raj Bhavan, Kohima.
A press release by PRO Raj Bhavan informed that speaking on the commemoration day, the governor extended greetings to all the people of Telangana and Telugu community.
He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi has regularly stressed on the celebration of every State’s heritage and traditions as part of his “Ek Bharat, Shreshtra Bharat” initiative.
Governor Ganesan hoped that the exposure to cultures, traditions and practices of different states and UTs would lead to an enhanced understanding and bonding between the states, thereby strengthening the unity and integrity of India through this celebration.
He underscored the importance of enhancing interactions between people from different states and understanding of diversity of a country such as India.
The governor said the programme was an initiative towards mitigating this lack of awareness of various cultures and also respecting and acknowledging the diversity and plurality of India.
“This aim is to celebrate the people of that particular state wherever they are residing in the country,” he said.
Ganesan also highlighted significant achievements on the water, agriculture, power supply fronts, health care and GSDP of state of Telangana, which was officially formed on June 2, 2014. He stated that Nagaland state has so many lessons to learn from Telangana.
He urged the Telugu community to contribute much to the state of Nagaland as they make Nagaland their second home. The governor also appreciated the participants especially who performed a melodious special songs and dance group on the occasion.
Secretary to Governor Rajesh Soundarararjan delivered the welcome address while deputy director of agriculture, government of Telangana (Retd.) Rajentra Rao delivered on how the state of Telangana was established.
Telugu cultural song was presented by G.Mohan Rao and M.Hemalath; Telugu Cultural dance was also performed by B Bhoomika and group, and B Akshayand and Group. The programme was conducted by SO, Jochule and vote of thanks was by CH Dharma Rao.
