Pochury language news broadcasting launched

The launching of Pochury language news broadcasting was celebrated at Meluri Village Council Hall on June 1.
Advisor, N&RE and NSDMA, Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, who was the chief host of the celebration expressed happiness for fulfilling the long-cherished dream and aspiration of the Pochury people. He thanked the government of Nagaland under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio for providing full support and timely intervention by taking up the matter with Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting, Dr. L. Murugan. He also expressed appreciation for the past and present leaders of Pochury, who have relentlessly strived to achieve this goal. A brief report on the journey of Pochury Hoho aspiring for news broadcasting was delivered by Sierhosie Kajiri, general secretary of Pochury Hoho. Highlights of the programme included cultural showcase of folk dances and songs from different areas of Pochury, such as Meluri Area Public Organization, Phokhungri Area Public Organization Meluri Town, Phoyisha Public Organization, and Apoksha Range Public Organization.
Earlier, Khrutachu, a local artist, presented his original song dedicated to the auspicious day. Earlier, the programme began with an invocation by Rev. Tivisie Pojar, pastor of BCMT, and the program was chaired by Chonpa Jurry, president of Pochury Hoho.
